The Brazilian Darlan Romani made history this Saturday (19), as he won the indoor world title in the shot put event at the World Indoor Athletics Championships held at Stark Arena, in Belgrade (Serbia).

To achieve this feat, the 30-year-old from Santa Catarina reached the mark of 22.53 meters (in the third of the six attempts of the dispute), breaking the South American record and becoming the first athlete from Brazil to become an indoor world champion in the shot put.
In the big decision, he beat American Ryan Crouser (22.44 meters silver), who is the current two-time Olympic champion, and New Zealander Tomas Walsh (22.31 meters bronze).
