Japan House São Paulo, a cultural space located on Avenida Paulista, promotes this weekend an event dedicated to the world of robotics, with robot sumo presentations. Called Roboto Lab, the event is free and open to the public. robot means robot in japanese.
The program also includes workshops, lectures and an exhibition dedicated to the theme with basic concepts of robotics. In addition, visitors will be able to interact with a panel that will bring an “X-ray” of the robots, control the machines, watch mechanical arm demonstrations and various other activities.
“This is the first time that we have brought together in a project such symbolic and relevant elements in Japan as technology, sport and education. With Roboto Lab, we will give greater visibility to the work related to robotics and technology developed in Brazilian universities and Japanese companies, as well as we wish to encourage careers called Stem (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)”, said Eric Klug, President of Japan House São Paulo, one of the main cultural spaces in the city.
Robot sumo shows will be held in a dohyo, space for battles, created on the ground floor of the place. Performances run from 11 am to 5 pm this weekend.
