The political party People’s Force He pointed out that, after the ruling of the Constitutional Court that will allow the release of Alberto Fujimori, it is time for reconciliation in the country and to “put down hatred.”
“Faced with negative criticism, Fuerza Popular reiterates respect for freedom of expression, and believes that it is time to reconcile as a country and put down hatred”they pointed out in a statement published on Friday, March 18 on social networks.
The day before, the Constitutional Court voted in favor of the habeas corpus presented by a lawyer from Ica who requested to annul the decision of the Judicial Power that considered illegal the humanitarian pardon granted by Pedro Pablo Kuczynski to Alberto Fujimori on December 24, 2017.
This ruling has generated reactions such as protests in the Cercado de Lima and rejection by various politicians, including members of the Executive Branch who have announced that they are evaluating measures to be taken before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.
Given this, Fuerza Popular stresses that the decision of the Constitutional Court must be complied with because in a democracy “Judicial rulings must be followed.”
The Fujimori party also assures that its “historical leader” was not sentenced for crimes against humanity, despite the evaluations made by the Inter-American Court that consider the crimes committed in the Barrios Altos and La Cantuta cases as such.
Popular Force concludes its statement by assuring that the release of Alberto Fujimori is a fact that does justice to the former president.
