Executive Power appoints Ana Cecilia Gervasi Díaz as Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade

The Executive Branch appointed Ana Cecilia Gervasi Díaz as the new Deputy Minister of according to Supreme Resolution No. 003-2022-MINCETUR, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano.

Gervasi replaces Diego Llosa, who had been in office since October 29, 2020, during the government of Martín Vizcarra and later in that of Francisco Sagasti.

The new Vice Minister of Foreign Trade has a professional law degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP). She also has a postgraduate degree in International Relations and a professional degree in Diplomacy from the Diplomatic Academy of Peru.

Additionally, he holds a Master’s Degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics (LSE) in the United Kingdom, specialization in multilateral diplomacy from the Institute of Higher International Studies (IUHEI) of the University of Geneva (Switzerland), and doctoral studies in the Faculty of Law of the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina).

Among the positions she has held, we can mention: General Director of Economic Affairs, General Director of Economic Promotion and Director of Investment Promotion of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Consul General of Peru in Toronto (Canada) and in Washington DC (USA); Minister Counselor of the Permanent Mission of Peru to the United Nations in New York (USA); Political Counselor of the Embassy of Peru in Buenos Aires (Argentina); She was a delegate of Peru at the Permanent Mission to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Geneva (Switzerland), where she represented Peru at the World Trade Organization (WTO).

The new Vice Minister of Foreign Trade has also been a member of the Peruvian negotiating team for the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement, now known as CPTPP, and the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the United States.
