Uruguay registered this Thursday 1,498 new cases of coronavirus on a total of 8,804 tests, reported the National Emergency System (Sinae). The positivity rate was 17%, although duplicate tests are also included in some people (antigen and PCR).
What’s more, there were six deaths in the last 24 hours of patients with covid-19, who were between 36 and 95 years old. Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, there have been 7,075 deaths diagnosed with the disease in Uruguay.
There are 11,334 active cases across the country and 86 people are in intensive care centers, according to the official report. Of the total positive cases, 235 correspond to the health personnel.
Of the 1,498 new cases, 687 were from Montevideo, 210 from Canelones, 95 from Colonia, 61 from San José, 53 from Maldonado, 51 from Cerro Largo, 42 from Rivera, 39 from Florida, 39 from Lavalleja, 36 from Durazno, 32 from Tacuarembó, 30 from Rocha, 29 from Artigas, 24 from Salto, 22 from Treinta y Tres, 13 from Flores, 13 from Río Negro, 12 from Paysandú and 10 from Soriano.
All departments report infected people this Thursday, and Montevideo leads in number of assets with 5,238. follow him cannelloni (1,744), Cologne (658), Maldonado (559) and Saint Joseph (426), among others.
