Uruguay registered this Friday 2,191 new cases of coronavirus on a total of 9,975 tests, reported the National Emergency System (Sinae). The positivity rate was 21.9%, although duplicate tests are also included in some people.
What’s more, there were 17 deaths in the last 24 hours of patients with covid-19, who were between 38 and 96 years old. Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, there have been 7,031 deaths diagnosed with the disease in Uruguay.
There are 15,766 active cases across the country and 120 people are in intensive care centers, according to the official report. Of the total positive cases, 279 correspond to the health personnel.
Of the 2,191 new cases, 980 were from Montevideo, 344 from Canelones, 132 from Colonia, 111 from Maldonado, 85 from San José, 55 from Cerro Largo, 48 from Lavalleja, 45 from Tacuarembo, 43 from Durazno, 43 from Florida, 43 from from Rocha, 42 from Rivera, 41 from Salto, 32 from Río Negro, 32 from Soriano, 30 from Paysandú, 29 from Flores, 28 from Artigas and 28 from Treinta y Tres.
All departments report infected people this Friday, and Montevideo leads in number of assets with 7,578. follow him cannelloni (2,382), Maldonado (849) and Cologne (810), among others.
