This Thursday the results of the Criteria survey -carried out between February 25 and 28- were published, indicating the public agenda that the next Government of Gabriel Boric.
Results
The people surveyed do not have a good perception of the personal economic situation or at the country level. Pessimism is projected on this matter in 12-month terms. “The rise in the cost of living, added to the end of fiscal contributions, are sharpening this pessimism,” the study said.
Criteria, also consulted on the Boric Government program. Participants were given 17 measures and they had to order them according to their personal importance.
In the first place is “establishing a minimum salary of 500 thousand”; then “Let a universal health insurance be created”; “Establish a more restrictive policy regarding immigration” and “guarantee access to water as a right.” These issues were the most relevant for 30% of respondents.
The cancellation of the CAE had 19%. Reducing the working day to 40 hours, tightening the arms control law and raising taxes on large fortunes reached 18%.
In the end was the elimination of the State of Exception in La Araucanía; that the complaints by the State security law be withdrawn from people detained on 18-O and decriminalize the use of marijuana.
Constitutional Convention
Questions were also asked about the body in charge of writing the new Magna Carta. The results are not very encouraging, since the entity obtained 31% approval (-2 than last month) and 48% disapproval (+4 than in January).
In addition, it was detailed that 47% of the population does not know that there is an exit plebiscite.
Regarding the question: “The constituent process culminates with a proposal for a New Constitution that has to be approved or rejected by the citizens in a plebiscite with a mandatory vote. From what you know, have seen and heard so far, are you more inclined to approve, reject or are you still not clear? 43% are not sure, 36% vote to approve and 21% reject.
