In an effort to combat wildlife trafficking, uniformed members of the National Police carried out an important rescue on the Tumaco – Pasto road.
Nariño News. The National Police continues to reaffirm its commitment to environmental conservation. In their most recent operation, carried out during patrol work on the Tumaco – Pasto road, the uniformed officers managed to rescue two turtles that had been abandoned in a bag on the side of the road.
The turtles were immediately placed in the custody of the Nariño Regional Autonomous Corporation (CORPONARIÑO), where they will receive the necessary care before being returned to their natural habitat. These types of operations are essential to counter illegal wildlife trafficking, a problem that threatens the biodiversity of the region.
The National Police called on the community to collaborate in the protection of wild species, urging them to report any suspicious activity related to animal trafficking to line 123. With these actions, they seek to preserve the country’s fauna and flora. , guaranteeing an ecological balance for future generations.
