Through a campaign, the District Municipality of Chilca, in agreement with the Universidad Peruana Los Andes, managed to sterilize and neuter 40 dogs and 20 cats. On December 11, 12 and 13, a final sterilization campaign will be carried out to close the year.

The residents of the district came with their pets to the campaign, in order to promote responsible ownership of animals and contribute to controlling overpopulation. The manager of Public Services and Environment, Tito Orellana Mendoza, highlighted the great reception of the population, which has allowed more than 400 animals to be sterilized throughout the year.

The surgical interventions were performed by students of the last semester of Veterinary Medicine, under the supervision of the prominent professor MV. Ramiro Yauri. Due to the high demand of the population, on December 11, 12 and 13, a new sterilization day will be held where they will also offer vaccination and deworming.
