The National Development Plan had as its goal the sale of 6,600 electric vehicles in these 4 years. By January, the Government managed to exceed this goal.

According to official records, 6,817 electric vehicles were sold in the country. Along with this, thanks to Law 1964 and tax and regulatory incentives, Colombia leads the sale of exclusively electric vehicles in Latin America in 2019, 2020, 2021 and so far in 2022.
In accordance with Diego Mesa, Minister of Mines and Energy, the country leads in this sector at the regional level. Then follows Chile, the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica.
