The mandatory use of the mask will be in force while the omicron variant remains in the country.
This was announced by the General Director of Public Health, Melva Cruz, while emphasizing the prohibitions issued from February 25 to March 6, regarding the celebration of the carnival.
Cruz explained that those who fail to comply with the provisions established by the Minsa will be sanctioned with up to $5,000.
“Any activity that promotes disorder and crowds is prohibited during this rest period,” he reiterated.
Among the prohibited activities are the cantaderas, dances, irons, lazo competition, murgas, tunas, mojaderas; everything that involves crowds.
He explained that the Minsa through its regional headquarters will ensure compliance with these measures together with the Public Security bodies and the Joint Task Force (FTC) and sanctions will be established according to the fault.
