The MiBus company announced that it will carry out a demand study to assess the transportation needs of cancer patients who will have to travel to the City of Health after the transfer of the National Oncology Institute (ION). This is in line with the guidelines of President José Raúl Mulino.
This analysis will allow for accurate data on user mobility patterns and optimise current resources, improving the transport experience for those requiring specialised care. The study will include an assessment of patient volume, peak times and most frequent points of origin.
This data will help MiBus adjust its current services and ensure efficient and comfortable access to Ciudad de la Salud. Currently, MiBus already has two complementary route services that travel along the city’s main roads, covering the Merca Panama area and Ciudad de la Salud, facilitating access to these centers. These are routes C970, which starts in bay D of the Gran Terminal de Albrook, and C974, which provides service from Gran Estación de San Miguelito.
“This demand study is key to better understanding the additional needs of patients and ensuring that public transportation to Merca Panama and Ciudad de la Salud remains an effective tool for their access to medical treatment,” said Carlos Sánchez Fábrega, General Manager of MiBus. “We are committed to continuing to provide quality service tailored to the needs of our community.”
