The representative of the Ancón district, Yamireth Batista, participated in a meeting with authorities from the National Government and businessmen who operate on the Amador Causeway, with the aim of coordinating actions for the start of the cruise season, scheduled for October 9.
The meeting, which took place at Fuerte Amador Resort & Marina, addressed crucial issues such as security in this important tourist area, the impact of traffic jams that occur during peak times of visitor numbers, and the growing proliferation of street vendors in the area.
The need to reorganize parking areas, review and reinforce sanctions for those who violate parking regulations, and ensure the safety of both national and international tourists was also discussed.
Yamireth Batista expressed her full willingness to collaborate with the Ancón Municipal Board in the implementation of the measures adopted by the authorities, and reiterated her support for the companies operating on the Amador Causeway, using the platforms of the Municipal Board to enhance coordination.
Also present at the meeting were Jorge Díaz Guerra, executive secretary of the Administrative Unit of Reverted Assets (UABR), along with representatives of the Ministry of Security, the Tourism Authority, the National Police, the National Aeronaval Service and the Municipality of Panama.
Panama’s high tourist season will officially begin next October, with the arrival of the first cruise ship at the Amador Cruise Port, where around 3,000 tourists are expected to arrive.
