Coronavirus in Uruguay: 3,350 new cases, 14 deaths and 153 hospitalized in ICU

Uruguay recorded this Sundayo 3,350 new cases of coronavirus in 9,864 analyzes processed, according to the report released by the National Emergency System (Sinae). Positivity was 33.96%, although the figures include duplicate tests in some people.

In addition, the death of 14 people between the ages of 43 and 104 who had a positive diagnosis of covid-19 was confirmed, so the accumulated total of deaths since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020 rose to 6,879 people.

As of today there is 37,476 active cases that are distributed in all the departments of the country, and of that amount, 153 have the disease under intensive treatmentaccording to the official report.

The capital leads the list with 18,241 people sick with coronavirus; behind is Canelones with 5,842 and in third place, Colonia, with 1,479.

Of the 3,350 new cases this Sunday, 1,810 are from Montevideo, 429 from Canelones, 162 from Maldonado, 131 from Colonia, 126 from Paysandú, 101 from Lavalleja, 91 from San José, 66 from Rivera, 55 from Tacuarembó, 49 from Durazno , 49 from Salto, 47 from Cerro Largo, 46 ​​from Artigas, 46 from Florida, 40 from Rocha, 34 from Soriano, 31 from Río Negro, 27 from Treinta y Tres and ten from Flores.

The Ministry of Public Health (MSP) removed 13 cases from the active list, but did not explain the reasons for such decision.
