Dajabón,- Defense Minister Lieutenant General Carlos Luciano Diaz Morfa, highlighted the potential of the teams, checkpoints and staff that will be in force next to the perimeter fence that began its formal construction at the border, to guarantee its efficiency.
Diaz Morfa spoke prior to the speech by President Luis Abinader in the Codepo sector of Dajabón, where work began in the presence of the president of Senator Eduardo Estrella, Alfredo Pacheco of the Chamber of Deputies, Major General Julio Florián Pérez, Army Commander General and other authorities.
According to an audio visual that was presented and his intervention, the first forty kilometers of fence will be raised in four fronts from Manzanillo to Pedernales, within the space there are 311 pyramids, in the 391.6-kilometer strip along the border.
There will be area surveillance with unmanned aircraft, vehicle and motorized patrols, 19 observation towers, 40 gates, 10 patrol points and a central control command.
