Citizen Freedom Foundation launches campaign: “Ask for information, it’s your right”

The project manager of the Foundation for Citizen Freedom, Ilán Perelis, referred to the launch of the campaign “Ask for Information, it is your Right” to give visibility to Law 6 of 2002 on Transparency and Access to Public Information.

The objective of this campaign is to raise public awareness and train Panamanians on how to access public information. Through this social media campaign, two key messages will be communicated to citizens: first, to inform: access to public information is your right. Learn how to exercise it. And second, to take action: request and use information on the use of public funds.

The campaign began on August 12 and will end on September 12 with a Practical Workshop via Webinar to train in the exercise of the right of access to information, which includes: how to request it, who to ask for it from, how to write the request, how to follow up, what to do if it is denied, what is Habeas Data and how to present it so that the Supreme Court orders the official to give you the information that he does not want to give you.
