Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro appeared before the Supreme Court on Wednesday to file an appeal and request an investigation into the results of the presidential elections on Sunday, July 28. The president said he is ready to present all the voting records.
The investigation requested from the Supreme Court includes an “expertise of the results” and the “cyber attack” suffered by the National Electoral Council (CNE) systems after the end of the voting.
Maduro said he asked the Court to summon and question all the candidates who participated in the elections. “I submit to justice,” he said.
President Maduro was officially proclaimed by the CNE, after announcing that he obtained 51% of the votes compared to 44% for the opposition candidate Edmundo González, despite not having all the votes.
