Despite international criticism that the election was not transparent, the National Electoral Council of Venezuela (CNE) proclaimed Nicolás Maduro Moros as President-Elect of Venezuela for the period 2025-2031.
The Venezuelan opposition rejects the results, declaring that electoral fraud was committed, unprecedented in Latin American history. The CNE, meanwhile, said that Maduro won with 51.2% of the votes.
It is striking how quickly this proclamation was made, less than 24 hours after the general elections, and how it was rejected by the international community, which even expressed its concern about what is happening in Venezuela in a joint statement.
“We are better than yesterday, if we look at the past we are better than 10 years ago, we are a better people, there is something called social networks that creates a virtual reality and who controls virtual reality, our new arch enemy, Elon Musk, who desperately shows his face and would like to come with his rockets and an army to invade Venezuela, did you know that you were behind all this with your money and your satellites” said Maduro during his proclamation
