The chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Karim Khan, requested arrest warrants against Israel’s highest leaders, who are mainly involved in the conflict in Gaza with Hamas.
According to Khan, there are “reasonable grounds to believe” that war crimes and crimes against humanity have occurred attributable to Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and Yoav Gallant, Minister of Defense.
This arrest warrant also applies to three leaders of the Palestinian militant organization Hamas: Yahya Sinwar, who is the head of the group in Gaza, as well as leaders Ismail Haniya and Mohammed al Masri, who are also considered responsible for the conflict.
Prosecutor Khan has asked that the five men be arrested.
