Three arrested, seventy rectangular packages with alleged illicit substance, a boat and other items were the result of a high-precision operation in the Galera sector in the Guna Yala region.
Units of the Anti-Narcotics Directorate and Special Boat Battalion assigned to the 2nd Caribbean Brigade, carrying out operational actions to verify information in the Galera sector in the Gulf of Guna Yala, found the location of a group of three people who were on board of a boat.
The citizens who were traveling on the boat, upon noticing the police presence, threw three packages into the sea, which were later rescued by our units. These packages are presumed to contain an illicit substance inside.
Our units proceeded to secure the boat and its occupants, simultaneously with the collection of evidence.
The operation was carried out in conjunction with the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Drug-Related Crimes of Colón and Guna Yala to carry out the corresponding coordination and procedures.
The National Border Service maintains its strength in order to counteract criminal acts of transnational organized crime, which threaten the security and integrity of the communities that make up our operational areas.
