Through the Shield Campaign, inspectors from the National Immigration Service, together with the National Aeronaval Service, have returned more than 900 people with a criminal record and in some cases links to organized crime to their countries.
Today they deported 30 Colombians, 26 were deported and 4 were expelled.
The maximum administrative measure of expulsion is applied to these 4 Colombian citizens, considering them a threat to collective security; all of them involved in drug cases; either for possession or international drug trafficking.
“The four Colombians who were subject to the expulsion measure were involved in cases of international drug possession and trafficking,” reported Immigration Director Samira Gozaine.
In total, so far this year, 281 measures of the Immigration Law have been applied to foreign offenders of various nationalities, of which 222 are deportations and 59 correspond to expulsions.
While, from April 2023 to date, 913 measures to apply the Law to foreign citizens have been registered based on their level of danger. Of this total, 714 have been deported and 199 expelled.
