The Electoral Tribunal (TE) decided to suspend electronic voting at 20 tables that had been located at the Atlantic Pacific Convention Center (Atlapa) for the elections on May 5, 2024; In addition, the National Directorate of Electoral Organization was ordered to use the manual voting and counting system established in the Electoral Code in that important electoral center.
The measure was reflected in Decree 32 of April 26, 2024, after the electoral authorities held an extraordinary session of the National Council of Political Parties and its technical subcommittee, last Tuesday, April 23, 2024, in which Concerns were raised about the use of electronic voting.
The measure is taken to maintain the transparency of the system, eliminate causes of concern and contribute to shielding the electoral process.
