The application of the second dose of pediatric vaccination began this Wednesday in the 8-6 circuit, according to the Regional Director of Health of San Miguelito, Yaritzel Ríos, this process is carried out with the objective of advancing with coverage in children from 5 to 11 years.
He stressed that the Health Centers of Veranillo, Torrijos Carter, Cerro Batea, Amelia Denis de Icaza, and the Urracá Valley will be enabled as vaccination centers from 7:00 in the morning to 3:00 in the afternoon; while that the Metro Mall and Los Andes Mall will be open from 9:00 in the morning to 5:00 in the afternoon.
“It is important that children from 5 to 11 years old who are going to start the school period return safely to their face-to-face classes,” said Rìos, adding that at the Polyclinic of the Social Security Fund of Santa Librada and at the Manuel María Valdés in San Miguelito pediatric doses will also be applied.
In the district of San Miguelito, more than 13,000 children between the ages of 5 and 11 have been immunized and around a thousand already have their second dose.
Ríos recalled that in order to apply the second pediatric dose, the minor must be approximately 21 days after having received the first.
