For Tuesday, March 8, International Women’s Day, the PIT-CNT calls for a 24-hour national general strike, with the task of also supporting the campaign for the “Yes” to repeal 135 articles of the Law for Urgent Consideration (LUC).
But the decision of the trade union center has not gone down well with some of the members of the Feminist Intersocial. For example, Soledad González spoke out, on her Twitter account, against the determination of the PIT-CNT.
ridiculous men
“The comrades who believe they have the right to decide what we women do on that day and how we should fight it, are still living in the 19th century. If they want to continue wearing down the popular movement, that is their decision,” questioned Soledad González.
He said that March 8 is a women’s strike. “Any man who stops that day will not only be ridiculous, but will clearly position himself against the feminist movement, denying and bastardizing our fight.”
For her part, Fernanda Aguirre, a member of the Executive Secretariat of the PIT-CNT responded that “if you want to influence the decisions of the convention, you have to find the mechanisms to make the proposals,” according to La Diaria.
