The girl who arrived from San Ignacio de Velasco to the Mario Ortiz Suárez Children’s Hospital, Due to a scorpion sting, she was admitted to intensive care on Wednesday night. The event was recorded last Friday, July 7, and according to reports the relatives have not yet applied the antidote.
“The girl has convulsed and in the CT scans you can see a spot on the brain, in addition, until now they have not applied the antidote. It can’t be that we came from the countryside because we thought they had it here, But it turns out that there aren’t any here either, they have to bring it from Brazil,” said Ana María Ramos, the patient’s aunt.
This version is contrary to the one provided earlier by the girl’s father, when he stated that he saw improvements in the clinical picture, because they had supposedly administered the antidote.
“They have given him the antidote already, that was what I wanted, and now I wait for the results of the blood tests that have been taken yesterday (Tuesday). But I see it stable and improved”said Fernando Vaca Surubí, the girl’s father.
The patient arrived at the Mario Ortiz Children’s Hospital last Monday after seeking help at the main hospital in San Ignacio de Velasco, where they arrived from a community called San Ignacito de Cayú.
The little girl was stung by the scorpion last Friday, July 7, at around 5:00 p.m. That same day she was taken to the community health post where they applied an antiallergic. But not seeing any improvement, she was taken to San Ignacio where she was not helped in a timely manner either.
Thus it was that he reached the capital of Santa Cruz, where according to relatives there is no corresponding antidote either.
