A child under one year and eleven months was stung by a scorpion in San Ignacito de Coyú, last Friday, July 7. This was confirmed by the mother of the little girl, Suely Hurtado. According to the woman’s report, the doctors had reported that the patient’s evolution is favorable and he is expected to receive the antidote this Wednesday.
According to Hurtado’s account, the little girl alerted of the bite around 5:00 p.m. on that Friday, July 7, so they went to the community health center, where they gave him an injection. At first, according to the parents, they believed that it was the antidote, but it was only an anti-allergy, so the little girl did not show any improvement.
The girl’s mother indicates that the bite affected leg mobility and speech.
Faced with this situation, they went to San Ignacio de Velasco and around 2am on Saturday they arrived.
Unfortunately, “in the main hospital of the municipality, Julio Aramayo, they indicated that they did not have pediatricians, so they had to move to the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra”.
Currently, Hurtado asserted that the little girl is in the emergency room of the Mario Ortiz Suárez Children’s Hospital. “According to the doctor on duty, he is already moving his leg, although he still does not speak.
