The launch of the new digital platform for the traceability of incentive payments and compensation, carried out by the Ministry of Agricultural Development (MIDA), through the Information Technology Department with the purpose that producers have a new tool that allows them to follow up on their payments.
This system will allow the producer to request an incentive or compensation for the rice, corn and milk items or any other item that is uploaded to the platform, in addition to following up on the corresponding procedures, since it will indicate the status of their procedure. until payment is made.
During the presentation, the Minister of MIDA, Augusto Valderrama, pointed out that those who do not incorporate today’s technologies will be isolated and tend to disappear from the technological world, since papers must be eliminated, which delay processes and through these systems transparency is guaranteed.
He stressed that this task of digitizing, establishing specific and precise geo-referential satellite control mechanisms will lead them to have better control and auditing of the funds that are being managed, since in today’s societies transparency is measured by digitization and in MIDA is there to streamline procedures with transparency, and thus provide greater support to producers.
The MIDA IT Director, Yanela Ortega, emphasized that among the advantages it stands out that the process will be carried out with greater transparency for both MIDA and the producer, in addition there will be digitized documentation that will store statistics for analysis and validate compliance and In the same way, it will be possible to validate where the opportunities to improve the processes are and identify situations that arise throughout the process.
He explained that the beneficiaries will be able to enter the website: www.mida.gob.pa to benefit from this new tool at the service of producers as part of transparency.
Anaris Cedeño, Director of Trade Policy, indicated that this platform is part of the commitments made in the national dialogue within the framework of the Prompt Payment Commission, which has been working since September 28, 2022, and that this platform is product of the work between the Alliances and the institutional sector.
During the meeting, they talked about carrying out a training program with the different producer unions so that they know the mechanism to enter and register on the platform to obtain its benefits.
