In the Managua Courts, a sentence was handed down against the taxi driver Zarlin Thair Estrada, who was sentenced to 33 years in prison for murder and aggravated robbery to the detriment of Nelly Borge, 31, who was traveling as a passenger on the night of the crime.
Judge Ángel Fernández sentenced Estrada to 27 years and six months in prison for aggravated murder and five years and six months for aggravated robbery.
The deceased left an eight-year-old girl as an orphan.

The Prosecutor’s Office presented as evidence the objects that the convicted person found after his capture, he had the victim’s cell phone and clothing.

The man also took care of the taxi he used to end the woman’s life and with which he fled from the crime scene.
the night of the crime
At 11 pm, on Sunday, February 19, Borge took a taxi in the Villa Libertad neighborhood sector, in the Seventh District of the capital, to go home, in the Hilario Sánchez neighborhood, in that same district. Suddenly, according to the official story, the taxi driver deviated from the road, located 10 blocks from the victim’s home, in Sabana Grande, where he took his cell phone from her and then abandoned her.
The female tried to defend herself by hanging from the vehicle door, but the attacker proceeded to drag her, and then pass the car tires over her.
The criminal got out of the taxi and seeing her lifeless also stripped her of her shoes. The murderer was captured on February 22.
