After their participation in the UNASUR Summit in Brazil, the presidents of Bolivia, Luis Arce, and Argentina, Alberto Fernández, They will meet again this Thursday in the municipality of Yacuiba to inaugurate the “Juana Azurduy de Padilla” electrical interconnection line of 132 kilowatts.

Both leaders and their retinues will go to the South Thermoelectric Plant in the town of Yaguacua, distant about 40 kilometers from the Yacuibeña town.

With this electrical interconnectionBolivia exports electricity to the neighboring country to meet the demand of towns in the province of Salta, in northern Argentina.

The sale of electrical energy began in mid-March and is part of the surplus of the total electricity production that is generated in Bolivia.

Initially, ENDE sent 60 MW to Argentine territoryo and then it rises according to demand, through a 120.5 kilometer transmission line, with a capacity of 120 MW.

According to data from the National Electricity Company, the opening ceremony is set for 10 in the morning at the South Thermoelectric Plant, although in Argentina they estimate that there could be a delay.

From the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Energies, it was reported that President Luis Arce will be accompanied by the minister of that portfolio, Franklin Molina, and authorities from the electricity company for the ceremony.

His Argentine counterpart, Alberto Fernández, along with Foreign Minister Santiago Andrés Cafiero and members of the government environment will fly aboard the presidential aircraft from Buenos Aires to the Yacuiba airport.
“Foreign Minister Cafiero is certain and the rest of the entourage is not yet confirmed”responded Javier Porta, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Argentine government.

Fernández will arrive in the Tarijeño Chaco motivated after advancing in talks with the president of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, to finalize the financing of the National Economic Development Bank and Social (BNDES) for the tubes and steel sheets that will be used in the second stage of the laying of the “Néstor Kirchner” Gas Pipeline.

Argentina accelerates this project and the reversion of the Gasoducto del Norte to transport natural gas from Vaca Muerta to the Northwestern provinces of that country and export to the Brazilian market in the immediate future.
