Venezuela greets the African Union on the occasion of Africa Day

Venezuela rejects new Israeli attack on Palestinian territory

This Thursday, the Chancellor of the Republic, Yván Gil, published a statement issued by the National Government to congratulate the members of the african union on the occasion of the celebration of Africa Day and the 60th anniversary of the Organization of African Unity.

Through a tweet, Foreign Minister Gil expressed “From Venezuela we extend sincere congratulations to the members of the African Union on the occasion of the celebration of Africa Day and the 60th anniversary of the Organization of African Unity. Highly valuing his legacy to humanity and reaffirming our brotherhood.”

The document refers to the interest of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela “to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation, as a manifestation of genuine brotherhood between the Venezuelan and African peoples.”

Likewise, it highlights the strategic importance it has for the Bolivarian Government “establish links with all fifty-five (55) African States”.

In addition, the text indicates that Venezuela and Africa “are united in multipolarity, as a reflection of the geopolitical changeswith an international system in the process of transition as a result of the rise of new poles of power”.

Finally, the statement adds that “the Global South can build another world, more just and equal, based on the principles and purposes of the Charter of the United Nations Organization, South-South cooperation, solidarity and complementarity.”
