Venezuela and Iran reviewed the joint work agenda on Sunday, with the aim of strengthening cooperation ties between the two countries, reported the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil.
Through his account on the social network Twitter, Gil explained that he had a telephone contact with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir Abdollahian.
“We had a telephone contact with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir Abdollahian @Amirabdolahianwith whom we reviewed the joint work agenda, reiterating our willingness to work and thanking the gestures of solidarity,” Gil reported on Twitter.
Venezuela and Iran discussed various issues
During the telephone conversation, both foreign ministers touched on various topics of common interest.
Gil highlighted the importance of the upcoming visit to Venezuela by the President of Iran, Sayyed Ebrahim Raisi, referred to a note from the Chancellery.
Likewise, the foreign ministers of Venezuela and Iran They highlighted the significant achievement of establishing diplomatic relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia, which they agreed will contribute to dialogue and peace in the region.
Another of the topics discussed was the return of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Arab League, a fact that will undoubtedly contribute to further consolidating Syria’s political and economic conditions as part of its reconstruction and recovery.

In the telephone contact, both foreign ministers also highlighted the strengthening of cultural exchange between Venezuela and Iran after the participation of the Minister for Culture, Ernesto Villegasin the 34th international Book Fairrecently held in Tehran, where a book of his authorship was baptized, in the Persian language.

Likewise, Foreign Minister Yván Gil thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for the consistent support given to Venezuela, during the years that it has been subjected to the imposition of unilateral coercive measures by the common enemy: Western imperialism, the note added.

Relations between Caracas and Tehran began on August 9, 1950, but since the beginning of the Bolivarian Revolution, cooperation and bilateral integration have been strengthened.
The strategic alliance between Venezuela and Iran translates into cooperation in various areas, and contributes to reactivating the country’s economy, hit by the ravages of the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the Government of the United States.
Regarding the exchange of cooperation, both countries have strengthened the agendas of common interest in various areas, such as energy, science, industry, among others.
