Guido Manini Ríos, leader of the Cabildo Abierto political party, has just announced on his Twitter account that the successor to Irene Moreira, in the Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning (MVOT), will be Senator Raúl Lozano.
Colonel Lozano will occupy the position that became vacant when President Luis Lacalle asked him to resign Manini Ríos’s wife as head of the MVOT.
Moreira had to resign when it came to light that he had awarded an apartment without a lottery in Montevideo, but there are about five direct homes that up to now it is known that he awarded, including one in Colonia del Sacramento.
Cabildo Abierto on the night of this Monday evaluated withdrawing from the coalition, but did not do so, it continues to accompany the government of Luis Lacalle, and returned to put a lobbyist at the head of the MTOP.
At the country level, there are about 3,000 political positions that are granted each term, and Cabildo Abierto has a good share of them.
