ANTT opens public consultation for Malha Oeste concession

Six people remain hospitalized after attack in Aracruz

The National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) will begin to receive, this Monday (10), contributions, via public consultation, for the Malha Oeste concession project, a railway section that will connect São Paulo to Mato Grosso do Sul. The consultation runs until 6 pm on May 25, through the Participant System.

ANTT has already been collecting suggestions and contributions to the public notice and contract drafts and the improvement of the technical, economic and environmental feasibility studies for the concession, since April 3rd, when the public hearing for the re-bidding of Malha Oeste was opened. With a length of 1,620 kilometers, the stretch goes from Mairinque (SP), in the east, to Corumbá (MS), in the west.

According to the agency, two public sessions are scheduled for Public Hearing No. 5/2023. The first, face-to-face, will be in Campo Grande (MS), on April 26th. The second public session will be hybrid, in face-to-face and virtual formats. It will take place at the headquarters of ANTT, in Brasília, on May 3rd.

“The investment forecast is around R$ 18 billion, exclusively foreseen to meet the demand and operation over the years of the concession, with emphasis on the modernization of the permanent track of the trunk line”, said, in a note, the ANTT.

Further information and guidance on proceedings and participation in the hearing can be obtained from ANTT website; in the ParticipANTT System; or by email.

ANTT also made available a video in which it explains how the public hearing procedure will work. To access it, click here.
