Former Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, of the Workers’ Party (PT), would inherit 21 percent of the voters who elected Jair Bolsonaro in 2018, if the elections were held today.
This is shown by the PoderData survey carried out between January 31 and February 1, through telephone interviews with three thousand citizens residing in 238 municipalities of the 27 units of the Federation, with a confidence level of 95 percent and a margin of error of two percentage points.
To arrive at this information, PoderData asked the respondents for which candidate they voted for in the second round disputed by Bolsonaro (Liberal Party) and Fernando Haddad (PT) and crossed the answers with the voting intentions for the first round of 2022, as published by this Monday the newspaper Power 360.
According to the survey, 54 percent of those who voted four years ago for the current president would choose him as a candidate in the elections scheduled for next October, while Sergio Moro (Podemos party) would inherit 10 percent of the votes.
The investigation also showed the existence of a quota of seven percent of the president’s voters who today would vote white or null.
In the previous poll, carried out from January 16 to 18, Bolsonaro obtained 58 percent of the votes that elected him, while Lula and Sergio Moro each inherited 12 percent of the president’s voters.
