Wolfsburg will face Arsenal in one of the semifinals of the Women’s Champions League after eliminating Paris SG this Thursday, after the French team did not go from 1-1 and could not overcome the adverse result of the first leg (1-0) in Germany.

Alexandra Popp put the Germans ahead (20) and Kadidiatou Diani tied for PSG (30)but the French could not find a way to score a second goal that would have equalized the tie.

The PSG forward had opened the scoring in the 11th minute, but the VAR annulled the goal because Diani started in an offside position.

Shortly before the break and with the game even, Diani suffered a right clavicle injury and could not continue.

In the second half the game opened up, with PSG looking to equalize the tie and Wolfsburg sentence. Both teams had clear chances to have scored more goals, but the score didn’t move anymore.

However, the best chances were for the locals, who hit the woodwork three times (53, 77 and 86) and Onema Grace Geyoro took a dangerous shot from Popp on the line (60).

Wolfsburg will face Arsenal in one of the semifinals, that on Wednesday eliminated Bayern Munich.

The other semifinal will face Barcelona, ​​which eliminated Roma on Wednesday, and the winner of the tie that Chelsea and Lyon will play this Thursday, with an advantage for the Londoners after winning 1-0 in the first leg.
