The shipment of milk from dairy farms to industrial plants in Uruguay was higher during 2021 in relation to what happened in 2020, with an increase of 1.8%, reaching 2,114.7 million liters, when from January to December of the previous year 2,077.6 million liters had left the dairy for that purpose.
What was sent during 2021 established a record mark, surpassing the previous maximum record, which occurred precisely during 2020.
The consideration of data from the study carried out by the technicians of the National Milk Institute (Inale) establish that annual growth was achieved for the second time in a row, given that this 1.8% improvement follows a 5.5% improvement detected in 2020 compared to 2019.
The last adverse indicator occurred during 2019, when there was a 4.5% drop in the global volume of milk sent compared to what occurred during 2018.
in 2021 the emblematic barrier of 2,000 million liters was surpassed for the fourth time. Before it had happened in 2020 with 2,077.6 million liters, in 2018 with 2,063.4 million liters and in 2013 with 2,017.8 million.
The remission that occurred in December 2021 (183.2 million liters) was 1.2% higher than that remitted in the same month of the previous year and was the best mark in history for the last month of the year, slightly exceeding what had occurred in December 2013 (183 million).
