Spokesmen for popular power in the city of Barinas participate in assemblies to debate and support the actions undertaken by President Nicolás Maduro, to attack and fight against corruption.
The conference was held in La Carolina park, Corazón de Jesús parish, and was led by the Minister for Communes and Social Movements, Jorge Arreaza, and representatives of the state political team of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV).
Members of the communal councils: La Victoria, El Pilar, La Candelaria, José Tadeo Monagas, 23 de Enero Socialista, Antonio Nicolás Briceño, Simón Bolívar and Barrio Unión, who are members of the La Carolina commune, spoke and gave resounding support to the National Executive, in addition to making some requests to start projects that benefit different communities.
During the meeting, Arreaza emphasized the importance of attacking corruption, from whatever side, as a legacy of former president Hugo Chávez.
He stressed that President Maduro asked the revolutionary forces to remain on permanent alert, in addition, Arreaza called on the communes and communal councils to monitor and link up with other processes.
He stated that the economic groups of the bourgeoisie, through corruption in PDVSA, want to return to command Venezuela and end up having a president of crime.
“Corruption is a cancer associated with the capitalist system (…) it must be nipped in the bud as President Nicolás Maduro is doing.”
Communities give resounding support
Richard Colmenares, finance spokesman for the La Carolina commune, mentioned that the town is committed to the defense of the Homeland.
“We strongly support the President in the battle against corruption, with an iron hand, because that cannot continue to happen,” he emphasized.
Erich Vargas, another community leader, stated that the organization and leading role of popular power is of vital importance to face the struggles that the revolution warrants.
“We have five UBCh. Always active and consistent with the Revolution and with the tasks that are coming, with full awareness of President Nicolás Maduro and the fight against corruption,” he said.
March against corruption
Last Saturday, the revolutionary forces of the Barinas state attended the call of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) to the activity called “The Revolution on the march against corruption.”
The event took place from the Mi Jardín bridge, Ramón Ignacio Méndez parish, to the Los Acacios community, Barinas municipality.
The state political link of the PUV; Jorge Arreaza, the mayor Rafael Paredes and the leadership of the red tent led the march.
He stressed that in the revolutionary militancy it should generate deep indignation that thieves, of whatever political affiliation, take the people’s money.
He explained that the Ministry of Communes has been installing community service offices in the municipalities.
