The State University of Campinas (Unicamp) had an 82% increase in the number of candidates who signed up for the Unicamp Olympic Vacancies modality to enter undergraduate courses in 2022. There were 852 candidates this year, while in 2021 the number of candidates was 468.
The modality was adopted in 2019, aimed at students from public or private schools who have won medals or who have performed well in high school knowledge competitions. This year, 122 places were made available in 33 undergraduate courses.
Candidates are summoned based on the scores obtained in the Olympic or knowledge competitions, according to the rules of the public notice.
The percentage of women seeking admission through the modality also increased, from 24% of the total last year to 38.4% in 2022, with 327 candidates.
