The Second Settlement Court of Criminal Cases of the First Judicial Circuit of Panama declared a former private secretary of the Presidency of the Republic criminally responsible for the period 2009-2014, as the author of the crime against the economic order, in the modality of money laundering, and sentenced him to 120 months in prison.
As an accessory penalty, the court imposed the payment of 5 million 91 thousand 486 balboas with 92 cents, which must be paid to the National Treasury within 24 months once the main penalty has been served, which is equivalent to double the economic benefit received and duly quantified.
