River Plate won 3-0 at Cordoba Racing this Wednesday and successfully passed its premiere in this edition of the Argentine Cup, after a good performance by Martín Demichelis’s team that won with goals from Colombian Miguel Borja, Lucas Beltrán and Leandro González Pirez.
With this classification achieved in the Madre de Ciudades stadium in Santiago del Estero, River secured the passport for the round of 32 of the federal tournament, where it will wait for a winner of the duel between Talleres de Córdoba and Chacarita Juniors.
In the other duel this Wednesday, Chaco for Ever surprised Sarmiento de Junín, a first division team, after winning 6-5 in a penalty shootout after a goalless draw in a match played at the Brigadier López de Santa Fe.
In the next phase, the Chaco team will wait for the winner of the crossing that will be encouraged by Rosario Central against Central Norte de Salta.
The continuity of the first phase of the Argentine Cup will be next Wednesday with a day of three matches: Arsenal against Villa Miter de Bahía Blanca, Argentinos Juniors against Deportivo Armenio and San Lorenzo against Sarmiento de Resistencia.
The other teams that had already qualified for the next instance were the Paraná Board (defending champion), Defense and Justice, Huracán, Estudiantes de La Plata, Spanish Center, Excursionistas, Claypole and Racing Club.
