Once again Cerro Patacón caught fire, Lieutenant Colonel Ángel Delgado of the Meritorious Fire Department of the Republic of Panama indicated that the extinction work was carried out with the support of the Air Command of the National Aeronaval Service aboard the AN-145.
Delgado stressed that with this collaboration Senan helps to safeguard the physical integrity of the red shirts.
The Urban and Home Cleaning Authority indicated that they will coordinate with the company Urbalia SA in charge of the sanitary landfill and with other entities to take actions to put out the fire.
The Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology of Panama also issued an alert for contamination and smoke dispersion in Panama City, Panama Bay and part of the Arraiján district, due to the emission of toxic smoke that was generated by the new fire stress.
The Ministry of Health also recommended to the population that if they present any respiratory problem, skin allergies or other condition that has to do with toxic smoke, go immediately to the nearest health center to receive medical attention.
