The Partido Obrero (PO), a member of the Workers’ Left Front-Unit (FITU), will present this Saturday the pre-candidates who will seek a place on the space lists for the presidential elections and assured that, in case they do not arrive to an agreement, it will be disputed within the framework of the open, simultaneous and mandatory primaries (PASO).
“We want the left to assume the responsibility that corresponds to it, it has to be on the side of the workers’ struggle and against Kirchnerism. We do not see a union at the front regarding that,” the Party leader told Télam today. Buenos Aires worker and legislator Gabriel Solano, who will lead the candidacy of the presidential formula, with Romina del Plá as a candidate for vice president.
He also added that “they hope to reach an agreement by June” and if it does not occur “it will be disputed in the STEP.”

The plenary session of the Partido Obrero will be held this Saturday at 12 at the Club Atlético Lanús Microstadium, located on Avenida 9 de Julio 1680.
The group also reported that it will present Néstor Pitrola as a pre-candidate for governor of the province of Buenos Aires and Vanina Biasi as a pre-candidate for the Buenos Aires government headquarters.
“The Minister of Development (Victoria Tolosa Paz) cancels 160,000 social plans and meanwhile the PTS (Socialist Workers Party) candidates are assembling their candidacies behind the backs of popular causes,” Solano said.
The PTS, which is part of the FITU, had presented its presidential candidates in the middle of last year: the national representative Myriam Bregman as a candidate for president and the national representative Alejandro Vilca as a candidate for vice president.
From that space, they told Télam that “the proposals” presented by all the parties that make up the space will be evaluated to “lead to a unified list.”
“If a unified list is not possible, it will be defined in the STEP,” said the historic leader of the PTS, Christian “Chipi” Castillo, in statements to this agency. For Solano, the presentation “so far in advance” of the PTS lists was a mistake: “It shows that they have electoral participation as an exclusive priority, and that places us in a caste, we have to do something else, it is what we are going to do with our candidates,” he said.

For its part, the Movement of Socialist Workers (MST) presented at the end of last year Celeste Fierro as a pre-candidate for president and Alejandro Bodart as vice president.
“My presidential candidacy is still standing. The formula, which we are going to present in an act in March, is together with my partner Alejandro Bodart, leader of our party and benchmark for the province of Buenos Aires, as vice president,” Celeste Fierro said in statements to Telam.
He also indicated that the presentation of pre-candidates from other spaces of the Front is due to the fact that “although they share the same program, there are nuances and different profiles.”

Solano, for his part, considered that “today we have a light left, which is satisfied with parliamentary seats.”
