Analysts reduce growth expectations for Mexico in 2022

The survey, which is done to 38 local and foreign analysts, also modified growth for 2023 downwards, to place it at 2.14%.

There is also no good news regarding inflation: analysts expect headline inflation to close this year at 4.42%, outside Banxico’s target range.

For 2023, inflation is expected to converge to the target and close at 3.73%. inflation closed 2021 at 7.3%, the highest level in two decades.

Banxico raised its reference rate to 5.50% last December and analysts expect the rate to close the year at levels of 6.75%.
