Latin American artists are the protagonists of the new NFT platform called NFT 212, launched in this city and which will guarantee the certification of original works and their authors.
Works that are available to any user on NFT212 are the original works of the famous Colombian cartoonist Matador as well as other Latin American artists.
The new platform is an ecosystem designed “by and for Latino creators, especially focused on those who make up the central axis of the platform,” explained the founders of the new platform.
The platform has “in its possession a group of smart contracts of its own that “allows the user to mint (create or mint a unique digital object within a different categories blockchain.”
They explained that NFT 212 is like a digital store that offers authors a Smart Contract, instead of a generic contract, which makes it possible to verify that everything published is previously unpublished original art.
In addition, there are no fees for the artist or the client, since the platform takes a percentage of the original assets (part of the collection).
NFT 212 provides “a multitude of areas in which we can acquire unique tokens, such as art, sports, music, and video games, among many others.”
An example is music: “in the NFT 212 you can find unique works such as song lyrics or compositions, instruments by emblematic artists, VIP tickets or tokens that give us an experience, such as access to certain VIP areas with owners of other similar tokens. .
“Perhaps the world is still getting used to hearing these terms, and the most common question is always repeated: What is an NFT?” asks one of its founders and CEO Diego Benítez who comes from the art world.
The NFT 212 are a “Non Fungible Token (or non-fungible tokens, in Spanish), a digital certificate of authenticity that, through blockchain technology, the same one used in cryptocurrencies, is associated with a single digital file. From there, a new form of digital expression has been built”, he explained.
This platform has a “great responsibility with the environment, since it uses Polygon, a green blockchain that has achieved carbon neutrality by eliminating all CO2 emissions from its operations and also collaborates in projects related to environmental conservation and renewable energy”-
The NFT’s do not revolve so much “in the value of the work as such, but in the exclusivity and confidence that the creator generates by giving us the NFT. The difference between having the image of a digital work and having the image together with the NFT, is that in the latter case, we have the confidence that the author will give the maximum value to our NFT, above any other version of his work” .
It is a seal where the author “tells the rest of the world that we have the good version, the original or the most valuable copy,” said Benítez, designer of digital marketing strategies.
