A magnitude 7.2 earthquake occurred on Wednesday in the Moluccas Sea, east of the Indonesian archipelago. In this regard, the Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service of the Chilean Navy (SHOA) ruled out the risk of a tsunami for Chile.
According to the National Disaster Prevention and Response Service (Senapred), SHOA indicated that the characteristics of the earthquake “do not meet the conditions to generate a tsunami in the things of Chile.”
According to SHOA, the quake was located 233 kilometers north of Ternate, Indonesia.

The Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics also did not issue a tsunami warning.
