Directorate of Culture will finance 18 projects to improve infrastructure and equipment of institutions

The 2022 edition of the Fund for the Development of Cultural Infrastructures in the interior of the country selected 18 projects, of the 77 presented by public and private institutions from capital cities, towns and villages, which were granted more than 11 million pesos for finance reforms, adaptation and building improvement, and equipment of cultural spaces.

The 18 projects were selected among 77 initiatives and will be supported with some 11 million pesos, informed the coordinator of the Cultural Infrastructure Area of the National Directorate of Culture, Patricia Rabosto, to Presidential Communication.

He explained that on this occasion two categories were established: building works, whose objective is to improve the conditions of the centers, and equipment of public or private cultural spaces. In the aforementioned edition, 17 of the projects received full support and the rest, with special mention, will receive partial funding. 70% of the investment goes to the works category and 30% to equipment.

The initiatives must be complemented by solid management proposals and a team that develops them, Rabosto clarified. “We are committed to strengthening both public and private cultural institutions,” he stressed.

The 77 projects that were presented included all the regions, with the participation of capitals, intermediate cities, towns and rural localities. The participants in this case included museums, theaters and clubs.

The program, created in 2009, promotes the creation of content linked to the identity of each area of the country and greater accessibility to the centers.

Rabosto highlighted the A Cielo Abierto project, presented by the city of San Gregorio del Polanco, which received a special mention from the jury and which values the cultural equipment made up of sculptures and murals.

It is expected that by 2023 the fund will be launched in the first semester, in order to increase the number of applications and carry out more workshops and training. Presidency
