The owners of La Sin Rival guaranteed that the company will remain open. This happened at the Salary Council held this Thursday at the Ministry of Labor where company workers and union leaders were present; the National Deputy Director of Labor, Santiago Torres; the owner of the company, Mónica Calvar and the accountant, former manager and current advisor to the company, Marcelo Ríos.
According to what the president of the Mesa del Bread, Luis Echevarría told El Observador in the Wages Council, the parties agreed to work together to keep the factory open and move the company forward.
Echevarría confirmed that the workers were requesting the delivery of data to the Cuesta Duarte Institute so that the situation of the company could be analyzed and recommendations could be made on the steps to follow in the financial area. “Yesterday while the Salary Council was in session, these data were sent,” he confirmed.
“As the company declined so much and lost sales, now it has to look for new clients and more demand,” said the trade union leader, adding that “in the meantime it has to be maintained and for that, fresh money is needed.”. to get this money The owners of the company asserted that a private (non-bank) loan will be requested and to obtain it they put as collateral the real estate in which the La Sin Rival bakery operates today.

Consulted regarding the debts that the company maintained with its employees, Echevarría maintained that there is a commitment on the part of the company regarding the debt they have with the workers. “As of today, the debt for salary is with three or four workers and that will be agreed with each one of them,” he said. A payment plan will also be made to keep up with a few other officials who are owed, for example, vacation salary.
While, the company’s leaders promised to pay the double bonus that corresponds to employees for belonging to that branch of activity. “The legal Christmas bonus was paid, the complementary half Christmas bonus is missing, which will be paid three times, in March, April and May; before the new bonus for June has to be paid,” said the union leader.
Echevarria confirmed that the Bread Table will carry out three or four extended bipartite meetings to help in the reorganization of work and production. “Not only was there a financial situation, but there was also a lack of control in terms of the organization of work and production,” stressed the president of the Board.
The parties agreed to meet again on February 15 in a new Salary Council. For this opportunity, it is expected that there will be progress in all the commitments assumed by the company. “Everything that was said yesterday must be reflected and put into operation: that the work be organized, that the loan is in place and that there are payment plans,” Echevarría concluded.
