Between the morning of Sunday, January 8, and Monday, January 9, four Nicaraguan women were murdered abroad, three lost their lives in Costa Rica and one in Guatemala.
The first case was registered on January 8. the victim is Gretel Guerrero Torrez, 34 years old, who lived in Guatemala. According to information from the newspaper La Prensa, the woman’s life partner, named Jose Rodriguez Menchuof Guatemalan origin strangled her.
The event was recorded in a cuartería, located in the Chimaltenango municipality in Guatemala. The victim presented blows in different parts of the body and had signs on the neck.
Guerrero Torrez’s family demands justice from the Guatemalan authorities. “I need my daughter to have justice, I need you to help me capture him because that way I would feel better, that he is in prison, because she left three children who are suffering in Honduras,” Elsa Torres, mother of the Nicaraguan, said at the time.
Three murdered in Costa Rica
The other three victims were registered in Costa Rica. They were all murdered on Monday, January 9. The second is Maria Auxiliadora Lopezallegedly murdered by a man who shot her when she was with other friends at the El Palenque bar, located in Los Chiles, Alajuela province.
That same night, she was murdered. Maria de los Angeles Larios Sanchez, 46 years old. The event was recorded on Manuel Antonio beach, located in Quepo, Puntarenas Costa Rica.

According to information from the Costa Rican Police, she was stabbed by her 44-year-old partner named Mendoza. When officers arrived at the scene, the subject was present. The authorities did not take long to capture him, as he was the main suspect in the crime.
The third victim is identified as Evelyn de Fatima González Zeledón. The event was recorded in a place known as Guararí, in San Francisco de Heredia, Costa Rica.
According to the Teletica television outlet, the woman may have been shot in the head “by mistake” when she was with a man, apparently her partner.
“Despite the fact that she was transferred to the San Vicente de Paul Hospital, she died shortly after (…) The driver of the car – who was with González Zeledón in the car – was shot and it is suspected that the attack was directed against the man, whose identity is unknown,” added the Costa Rican media.

La Prensa announced that the fourth Nicaraguan to be murdered left five children orphans. Article 66 He tried to establish communication with some relatives of the citizens, however, contact could not be established.
