The alleged perpetrator of the ex-prosecutor’s murder, Javier Ibarra, has an extradition order against him to Argentina for apparent links to an arms trafficking scheme. The suspect was also the former secretary of the victim.
Prosecutor Julio Ortiz provided details about the arrest of Óscar Caballero Sahlmann, one of those who worked as secretary of former prosecutor Javier Ibarra in a legal studyand syndicated as the main suspect in the crime.
For the Public Ministry, up to now and based on the data available, This is a case of theft (of a weapon) resulting in death. “The case is practically closed with the arrest of the alleged murderer, having found the weapon used in the act and a witness who said he heard shots,” said prosecutor Ortiz.

The witness would be Leonardo Ruiz, who was in charge of keeping the weapon after taking Caballero to the residence of former prosecutor Ibarra. “We presume that this weapon would be the murder weapon. It is handled that it was a homicide for the purpose of robbery, but we are still investigating and collecting more data, ”he added.
He also commented that C.aballero has an extradition order to Argentina, in the framework of a case related to an arms trafficking scheme.

Ortiz added that the exact causes have not yet been determined, but that they hope to do so with the statements of the detainees.
