Genao, who is also the first vice president of the Reformist Party, stated in this sense that “it is necessary to know the new Penal Code and other projects on the prioritized agenda before February 27.”
Meanwhile, the spokesman for the reformist deputies, Pedro Botello, considered the time remaining to the current legislature insufficient to know the projects approved by the Senate in what remains to be concluded.
Genao and Botello recalled that the current legislature ends next January 12 at 12:00 at night and the legislative chamber can only be convened by presidential decree that convenes an Extraordinary Legislature.
“Important issues are taking place in the National Congress and it is necessary to continue to discuss them without pause, which is why reformism asks the Executive to convene an Extraordinary Legislature for 44 days,” said the PRSC general secretary at the end of the meeting held at the headquarters of the political organization.
